Directions 

Chickpea & Fava Bean Mezza

Ingredients

  • Rinse & strain the chickpeas
  • Place the chickpeas in a pot, add the spices & add the 8 cups of cold water
  • Stir all together
  • Cover & cook on low heat heat for 2-3 hours
  • ​Use a ladle to spoon the chickpea soup in a bowl & squeeze some lemon juice 
  • Rinse & strain the fava beans
  • ​Place the fava beans in a saucepan
  • Add 4 cups of cold water
  • Add the salt & stir together
  • Cover & cook on low heat for 2-3 hours
  • ​Use a ladle to spoon the fava bean soup in a bowl
  • ​Squeeze some lemon juice & sprinkle some thyme on top

Chickpea Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dried Chickpeas 

(soaked overnight in cold water)

  • 1 teaspoon Chicken Stock Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tumeric Powder
  • 8 Cups Cold Water

Fava Bean Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dried Fava Beans

(soaked in water overnight)

  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 4 cups Cold Water
  • Wedges of Lemon
