Pickled Turnips

Ingredients

  • Add the water & white vinegar in a saucepan
  • Heat on high heat and stir together
  • Add the sea salt & stir all together
  • Boil the mixture
  • Cut the ends of the turnips & peel 
  • Cut the ends of the beetroot & peel
  • Slice the turnips then cut into strips
  • Slice the beetroot then cut into strips
  • Using a 1 litre glass jar, add some strips of the turnips first
  • Then add some strips of the beetroot
  • Keep layering alternating with turnips & beetroot
  • Pour the vinegar mixture in the jar
  • ​Close the lid & store on the bench top for 3 days
  • ​SERVE with your favourite rice & stew dish!

1 cup White Vinegar
2 cups Water
1 Beetroot
2 Turnips
1 tablespoon Sea Salt
